9/15/26: A City of Boardwalks

We woke up to discover that our anchorage was beautiful, and so was the weather. We were anchored up near the end of the bay where a small bubbling brook joined the ocean. At the north of the bay were huge cliffs, with the northern cliff having a 60–70 foot high 45° overhang. We walked up the southern side of the bay to get a better look at the northern cliffs and to see out to sea. The wind still contained a chill, but the chill was lifted by the sun shining through the cloudless sky. After hiking around our anchorage, we all returned to the boat and set sails for Harrington.
We were still heading upwind, but the wind was perfect and the sea was flat, so the sailing was magnificent. When we arrived in Harrington, we were greeted by a flock of locals on ATVs who watched us dock and then gave us the lay of the land. I even got a ride on an ATV through Harrington to the post office. Harrington is a small town with no cars. Everyone rides ATVs along elevated wooden roads for transportation. The town contains a mix of small fishing houses leftover from the fishing industry and small to mid sized suburban houses. Everyone we met was exceedingly friendly and the town feels almost like something out of The Wizard of Oz. We had an amazing pork dinner, and Tor arrived tonight, who was my captain in 2023.
