9/25/26: Goodbye Chuck and Tor, Goodbye Salt Water

Today there wasn't much on the agenda. I had a few personal goals, such as sending my film in to get developed and seeing a bit of the city, but the boat work was minimal. Sadly, Chuck and Tor were leaving today, which was sure to have an effect on the boat's chemistry which had been so great for the last couple weeks. They also played a large role in encouraging many of the fun things we've done in the last weeks and providing the competence that allowed all those fun things to happen so they will be missed. But they both had things to attend to, so we happily saw them off.

The other thing we were saying goodbye to was the salt water. Now that we were into the St. Lawrence proper, the water was mostly fresh and only getting fresher. I personally like the salt water, but almost none of the inanimate objects on the boat share my feelings, and I'm sure the foul-weather gear, the dinghy, and the decks were all very happy to be rinsed in fresh water and left to dry for their salt-free future. Late in the day, Nathan's parents and Kaia arrived, and we all went out for dinner.
