9/29/26: Montreal

Thanks to some wind from the east we held a surprisingly fast pace throughout most of the night. When the wind did die around 3 am we were within striking distance of Montreal even on just motor power. By 2:00pm, Montreal first came into view. The Montreal we could see was comprised of three parts: a city strobing with multi colored LEDs, a bustling cargo port lined with the container ships that had tormented us in the night, and a very quiet, likely shut, amusement park.
We made our way to the entrance of the St. Lambert Lock and dropped anchor just far enough out of the channel to not be in everyone's way. We anchored around 4:00, which is much, much earlier than we typically do, and it gave me some nice time to sketch and some time to wonder what I'm going to do when I get off the boat. I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
