The plan for the next 16 days of the trip is to jump along the coast of Quebec until we reach Harrington Harbour, where Tyler, Marc, and Candy get off, and then beeline it for Quebec City where Chuck, Nathan, and Katie get off. The first stretch to Harington harbor should be more relaxed but we need to do one overnight to get to the nicer cruising grounds in Quebec and we were hoping that that would be today.

We left on schedule at 8 am. It took some maneuvering to get out of our berth but it went smoothly. We then spent 30 minutes re-familiarizing everyone with how to operate the boat. I Marc and I sailed together on Pelagic in 2019 and Tyler and Katie had been on the boat in 2023 so everyone was quick to pick things back up. Nathan was a huge help here as he's the only other person on the boat who's recently familiar with all the systems and made a great teacher.

Once everyone was up to speed we hoisted the main and set off for the Straits of Belle Isle. Coming out of St Anthony we tested everyone's stomachs sailing into the waves coming off Greenland, but it calmed down once we made it around the north eastern corner. After that was calm and beautiful if a bit cold. We were aiming to make it through the straits during a small weather window of light wind before a southerly, but it came sooner than expected, and by the time we made it to the straits the wind was already churning up the water. We backtracked a mile to Cook's Harbour where we docked up and watched the local fishermen unload halibut and Tyler cooked us some excellent green curry. After dinner Chuck and Marc played their guitars and we all went to bed hoping for good wind.
