Today was a surprisingly sad day. Today was the day we had to say goodbye to Dexter. Despite the brevity of time which he was actually here, and the fact that Helene and I had only just met him, there was definitely a slump in anticipation and morale after his departure in the crew. This slump was only partially lifted after we sat down for some of the best Latin American food any of us had had outside of Latin America (Nathan and Helene having spent some significant time there). After breakfast, we set about collecting the few things we wanted before leaving Halifax, including material for making bucket hats and a grill, and getting Helene's passport stamped to prove that she did, in fact, leave the US. I wanted mine stamped as well, but I made the mistake of saying mine wasn't critical to get stamped, which meant it was immediately forgotten about. We all got back to the boat, had an amazing shakshuka dinner made by Kaia, and are going to bed early in preparation for leaving Halifax tomorrow.
Today we prepared for and had three new crew arrive. Preparing looked like doing a proper vacuuming and scrubbing of the interior of the boat and planting our three-plant herb garden. Nathan and Helen
